Dr. Katie Taylor, Ph.D

 

Dr. Taylor specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, including ARFID, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder.  She is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Family Based Therapy (FBT).

Dr. Taylor specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, including ARFID, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder.  She is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Family Based Therapy (FBT). 

Dr. Taylor earned her BA. from Yale University and her Ph.D. from Rutgers University, completing her clinical internship at Zucker Hillside Hospital. Dr. Taylor has worked with children, adolescents, and adults suffering from eating disorders across a variety of clinical settings. She has worked at Mount Sinai Eating and Weight Disorders Program, Rutgers Eating Disorder Clinic, and the Eating Disorder Center at Cohen’s Children’s Hospital. Dr. Taylor has published several peer reviewed articles based upon her research and presented at conferences on the topics of body image, neural correlates of eating disorders, stigma and eating disorders, and eating disorder prevention. Dr. Taylor has been a peer reviewer for the journals Body Image and European Eating Disorders Review. She has worked on adaptations of manuals, including eating disorder prevention and CBT group therapy for inpatient hospitalization.   

Dr. Taylor is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Baruch College, in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences for the Master of Art in Mental Health Counseling, where she currently teaches a course on the Assessment and Treatment of Eating disorders and Obesity and a course on Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Dr. Taylor previously taught Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Eating Disorders for 7 years at the Center for the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia.   In addition to treating eating disorders, Dr. Taylor is well versed in the application of CBT, Exposure Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention for Anxiety and Related Disorders.  Dr. Taylor is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders, The American Psychological Association,and The Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.  y something interesting about your business here.
