
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment grounded in the theory that the interactions of our thoughts, feelings and behaviors can create patterns that keep us feeling unwell. Treatment is based on altering these patterns for optimal coping and living.
CBT-E is an evidence based form of CBT specifically for the treatment of eating disorders. It considers eating disorders transdiagnostically, meaning it is intended to help an array of eating disorder problems. It is indicated for adults, and may be adapted for adolescents with family support
CBT-AR is an emerging adaptation of CBT for ARFID, utilizing the theories and practices of CBT, including Exposure Therapy, for the treatment of this disorder.
FBT is considered the gold standard of treatment of Anorexia Nervosa in adolescents. It is predicated in the belief that parents and caregivers are the agents of change and most powerful advocate for their child. FBT has also been developed for treatment of adolescents with Bulimia Nervosa and children and adolescents with ARFID.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a comprehensive, innovative form of cognitive-behavioral therapy (know as 3rd wave CBT) that was originally developed to treat chronically suicidal adults with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). It has been adapted and shown to treat a variety of mental health problems, including Eating Disorders.
This treatment was co-designed by Dr. Hirsch, Co-Founder of IntegratED Psychology. It is based on the evidence-based behavioral and cognitive interventions derived from CBT, DBT, ACT and other behavior therapies. It's an integrative approach to treatments that work, along side instrumental handouts for families and adolescents.
